Zanth rolled his eyes again, shaking his head this time as well. "Fine, then where do they tell you to take me?"

"North, to the Plains." She said. "That is where your company is. I am not sure what the significance of this journey is, and I don't pretend to." She sighed and got up. "You know it is sometimes hard to follow what they say, but my faith leads me to believe this journey is not only for you, but for me as well. Whatever may happen, it is for a reason. And I will prove it to you. Once we get to the Plains you can join your war again."

Zanth watched her for a long moment. "And if my company decides to kill you once you arrive, is that for a reason as well?" he asked. He for once, wasn't being sarcastic about it. He wanted to know what she thought.

Rosalia studied him. "That depends." she said softly. "Even if you did so by your own hands." She stood up. "I believe that the Gods have their will, but we must also make our own fate. You could kill me now, and turn your back on my words, but they set these paths for reasons we cannot comprehend. It is of course your choice to follow them, or stray. People have to make that choice every day. I chose to do my best to guide myself and others to these paths. But ultimately...the Gods can't forces us to do anything."

Zanth gazed at her for a long moment, then wiped his claws on the blanket she had given him. He stood and grabbed his armor, strapping it on slowly. He didn't agree with her, and didn't believe in her gods, but if this got him back to his brothers, he'd follow along. "Well, let's go then," he said, hefting his ax up and putting it in its sheath on his back.

Rosalia nodded and grabbed her pack full of rations and other supplies. It was a long way to the Plains. About a week or so, maybe a week and a half if they were quick about it. The armies were already four or five days ahead.
With that she slipped out the door, barefooted, out into the soft earth. She looked up at the sky and smiled softly before heading North.
Ahead of them was a dense forest. Beyond that a swamp that morphed into a rocky, mountainy desert, and finally the plains beyond, nestled in the vallys. She had never been, but she knew the way.

Zanth followed her out, keeping quiet. Once they were outside, he cracked his neck, stretched more fully, and starting walking.

Rosalia kept the pace brisk, but not too. She didn't want to tire Zanth, or herself out too much. "There are dangers here." She murmured. "Brush wolves and Dire rats live in these fields. In the forests beyond it is said that the trees have their own minds, and don't like visitors."

Zanth snorted and pulled his ax out once again. "You really think we'll have problems, mouse?" he teased with a growl. She probably wouldn't get the humor of it, covered by a growl only his own people could understand. "Perhaps you should stay home then."

Rosalia smiled a bit. "I am strong, but I am no fighter." She said lightly. "I have some tricks up my sleeve, yes, but they are exausting to call upon. I suppose I am fortunate to have a warrior to travel with. Hmm?"

Zanth smirked at her. "Something like that," he said, although he didn't like the sound of her 'tricks'.

Rosalia looked to them. "The dire rats mass in numbers of thirty or more if we stumble upon the nests. If there are rats, then there will be wolves as well." She said. But her foot caught in a hole and she fell forward into the dirt. He cheeks flashed hot as she pushed herself up.

Zanth glanced at the hole, and then down at her. "You... don't get out much, do you?" he asked, smirking. He stopped, waiting for her to get up, but he did not offer to help her. If she couldn't get up after that... there was no way she was making this trip.

Rosalia brushed herself off. "My feet are small and this place is riddled with rat burrows." She protested, her cheeks bright red. She shook her head and moved a bit closer to Zanth when she heard chattering. "It was only a matter of time." She whispered.

Zanth snorted, his version of a chuckle, at her protest. But he spun his ax easily in his hand, his ears perking up at the chattering. He watched the trail ahead of them, waiting patiently.
