From the Journal of Aalnyar Korianthil
Request of a Friend
Written by Aalnyar, added 20 July 2010 @ 18:24

Entry in Timeline: 1376 DR

As I sat by the shore of Quiet Waters my friend Luys approached me with the look of one unsure how to ask a question or request.

"Aalnyar I have been looking for you for several days now and glad I have finally caught up with you I was wondering, umm if you would, hmm grant my request?"

What request would that be old friend *watches Luys trying to ask something that was proving difficult to form with words alone.

"I wish that you would forge a blade for me and I know what I ask maybe more than I should but during the wars we all have faced I have realized that my current weapons are not allowing me to slay the types of foes I am facing on a daily basis; I wish for you to forge for me Tel'Orasta'En'Uial (The Ascension of Twilight)."

He begins to describe what it was that he wished and said he believed it was a vision from Elilstraee her self that he have such a blade crafted to help him face the challenges he would soon endure.

I will do this for you but you must bring me several things, one being a large Moonstone blessed by the High Priestess of the grove if you can bring me these things I will supply the rest of the materials.

After several days Luys returns with the required materials and I begin work on his blade; twisting the mithril threads to form larger ones till I have one whole bar that I begin to bend over and over in the forge I crafted long ago.

Slowly the metal begins to sing in a bell like tone as I forge it under moonlight returning it to the heat to begin the process over and over till I have the shaped blade of a bastard sword before me whispering words of power over the blade as I forge it into a whole piece.

I remember seeing pictures of the Dancers sword from works in the grove but also have its image from when she spoke to me when she touched my own blade, patterened after he own blade I begin the work on the blades fittings setting the Moonstone within the pommel wrapping the blue viper skin and dark grey leather about it to strengthen the grip of the user.

The Symbol of the Dark Maiden can be seen within the moonstone it self appearing to dance when the blade is turned this or that way.

Taking the blade I begin the final enchantments that will give it a purpose of slaying of the foes Luys said he would face Demons, Devils, and werewolves. I begin the spells after laying the blade within the magic triangle calmly whispering words of power the blade takes on a silvery blue glow and raise upward within the circle the Moonstone pulsing with power in time to my words.

Releasing the powdered mithrill I watch as it forms a silver cloud that slowly floats towards the blade and as it passes through the moonlight bathing down upon the blade the cloud takes on a almsot living quality slowly moving towards the sword but also starting to gather momentum like a dancer spinning about the blade till it finally touches the metal and with a flash Silvery Runes appear on the blade and the blade voice changes to a more female tone.

Strands of silver resembling hair whisping in a nimbus of silver show through the blades surface slowly ungulating like a dancers hair whirling as she dances the hum from te blade is more pronounced and the blade glows like a sliver of moonlight.

As I finish the litany of power the blade slowly lowers to the center of the circle and with my last word lays quietly down as though sleeping, I feel the power of the blade as though it is waiting to meet its purpose quietly sleeping till the hand that draws it calls it forth.

I look up to greet the sun rise and gather the sword placing it within the scabbard crafted from shadowwood and Mithrill wrapping both in silk and tieing both ends I bring Tel'Orasta'En'Uial to her wielder who awaits near Quiet Waters.
